Centre for Environmental Justice today initiated a survey to obtain public opinion on the improvement of environmental quality in Sri Lanka during the COVID 19 lockdown period.
Many people state that the air quality has much improved and there is more visibility in the sky. They also state that rivers are more cleaners due to the closing of dirty factories along the rivers. This situation has been reported in other countries including China and India.
However, forest destruction, land grabbing, poaching continue to happen despite the curfew.
We invite environmental conscious citizens to fill this survey and share your frank opinion. There is no other time to find the baselines of the environmental situation in the World.
