During 2020, the whole world was facing the greatest challenge of this century, the Covid-19 pandemic. Even though Sri Lanka was successful in curtailing the spread of the corona virus during the first wave, the country lost the grip and eventually cases and deaths increased by the end of the year. The topic of environment can be pointed as the second most discussed among the public due to reports of unprecedented scale of deforestation and illegal commercial agricultural projects which were reported from many parts of the country.
