As shown by this study, the non-protected areas (such as other state forests) harbor rich assemblages of species bot endemic and threatened and therefore releasing these lands for development without a proper assessment will contribute to loss of rich biodiversity present in the district, which in turn will result in the loss of goods and services received by local communities from natural ecosystems as well as loss of opportunities to develop other potential economic activities such as tourism as the district has a very high potential for tourism development based on its natural and cultural resources base. Therefore, the findings of this study stresses the need for caution when utilizing natural resources of the district as unplanned development can result in the loss of these resources and the ability to accrue both tangible and intangible benefits offered by the natural resources.
