Round table discussion on “Mercury Fee Dentistry in Sri Lanka” was organized on 9th March 2021 at Hector Kobbekaduwa Agrarian Research and Training Institute, 114, Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo 07 as a project activity of the Mercury free dentistry project with forcing the government and other related sectors to convince the phase out dental amalgam in Sri Lanka. Deputy Director General of Dental Service, Ministry Of Health, Director of the Agricultural and Environmental Studies Branch, Ministry of Education, Vice President of the College of Dentistry and Stomatology of Sri Lanka, Secretary of the Sri Lanka Dental Association, Consultant Dental Surgeon of the Sri Lanka Dental Association, Deputy Director of the Restorative Dentistry, Dental Institute, Colombo, Senior research Engineer of the Environmental Technology, ITI, Supirindant of custom, Sri Lanka Customs, Representative of the Medical Supply Division, Ministry of Health, Restorative Dentistry, Institute Of Oral Health Maharagama, Faculty of Dental Sciences, National Medicines Regulatory Authority, Health Promotion Bureau, and Dental Therapists Training School Maharagama, Medical representatives, CSOs, pre-school associations, and media were participated. Outcomes of the Dentist – survey conducted on mercury amalgam filling practice was shared. Progress on dental amalgam phase down process achieved by each sector was shared. Challenges and limitations for dental amalgam phase down process were discussed during this discussion.
