This was filed on 24th May 2023. The Plaintiffs claim from the owners/operator/local agent of the operator/manager/insurer and local correspondent and beneficial owner of the vessel M.V. X-Press Pearl, the Defendants above named, a sum of United States Dollars (USD) Six Billion Four hundred and Eighty-Three Million, Four Hundred and Sixteen Thousand Four Hundred and Thirty and Forty-Nine cents ($6,483,416,430/49) for the damages caused to the Plaintiffs as well as Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka by the said vessel M.V. X-Press Pearl and other incidental losses and damages including clean up. The Plaintiffs claim legal interest on the aforesaid sum from the date hereof till the date of decree and thereafter legal interest on the aggregated sum of decree till the payment in full. The last called date was on 11^th of December 2023 and case is fixed to be called on 1^st of April 2023.
